Social Science Programme at The International High School
The International High School is the only high school in Gothenburg that offers the Swedish curriculum in English!
As a student at The Social Science program, you will be prepared for higher studies within the field of humanities. The profile of the programme always remains international, putting global issues at the forefront.
The traditional Social Science subjects taught are Civics, Religion, History, Geography, Psychology, and Philosophy.
Other characteristic subjects are International Relations and Leadership and Organisation. Within your individual elective subjects, it is possible for you to combine academics with areas such as sports, art or speech.
There are special events held annually in order to add to the international feel of the school, for example:
- UN Role-Play – A part of the International Relations course, the UN Role-Play is an activity Social Science students always look forward to.
- Field trips abroad - You can apply for trips abroad that will give you hands-on experience of things you have learned in the classrooms. Some examples of field trip destinations are England, Poland, and Hungary.
