Social Science Programme at IHGR
IHGR is the only high school in Gothenburg that offers the Swedish curriculum in English!
As a student at The Social Science program you get prepared for higher studies within the whole field of humanities. The profile of the program always remains international, putting global at the forefront.
Traditional Social Science subjects taught are Civics, Religion, History, Geography, Psychology and Philosophy.
Other characteristic subjects are International Relations as well as Leadership & Organisation. Within your individual choice subjects it is possible for you to combine academics with, for instance sports, art or speech.
There are special events held annually in order to add to the international feel of the school, for example:
- UN Role-Play – is a part of the International Relations course and the role-play is something that the students at The Social Science program look forward to.
- Field trips abroad - which you can apply to. The field trips give you hands-on experience of some of the things you have learned in the classrooms. Examples of destinations for the field trips are Scotland, Senegal and Hungary.
